Scope and Content Note Thomas Green Clemson's papers reflect his intellectual interests in mining, geology, scientific agriculture and the promotion of education; his cultured back-ground as an artist, art collector, linguist and diplomat; and his personal life as a plantation owner, businessman, husband and father.
